Laughing Kookaburra Necklace
The laughing kookaburra is native to eastern Australia but has been introduced to Tasmania, Western Australia, and parts of New Zealand.
The bird's territorial call sounds like laughter. According to Aboriginal legend, the laughter of the kookaburra is a sign for the sky people to light the great fire â the sun.
The laughing kookaburra retains the same partner for life. Adult non-breeding kookaburras help their parents defend their territory and raise their young.
