Description
This hand-crafted London Dry gin is made with a premium sugarcane base. It features a selection of traditional botanicals that are steeped in raw Kānuka honey for 12 hours then slowly distilled in our custom copper pot still over a 6 hour period. When the vapour finally reaches the perfect temperature, we carefully pass it through our custom designed botanical chamber infusing this gin with a combination of organic seasonal pink grapefruit and locally sourced native Kawakawa leaf.

Made with a focus on producing a quality gin that would resonate with drinkers from all walks of life, this is a very clean and pleasant tasting gin with a distinct native scent and gloriously smooth mouth feel. It features delicate hints of butterscotch with refreshing citrus notes and a unique floral aroma. The perfect gin for any occasion, it works well with neutral tonics and soda waters yet throws out a few unlocked surprises when flavoured mixers are added.

Distilling
At Holland Road they follow in the footsteps of ancient folk healers by using natural botanicals and traditional spices with magical properties blended with organic fruits, teas, wines and raw honey to create intriguing contemporary gins like nothing you have ever tasted before. All of their recipes are methodically steeped, macerated and boiled in a copper pot still, then slowly vapour infused in a single continuous process to create complex, yet well balanced aromatic London Dry gins. To maintain the integrity of our recipes, they do not chill filter their gin. This allows essential botanical oils and flavonoids to remain in the distillation, resulting in a more authentic gin, with a rounder mouthfeel and richer aromatic complexity.

About
Frequenting the mysterious shadows of the 17th Century, plague doctors disguised their identity behind bird-like perfumed masks filled with aromatic herbs such as juniper, mint, rose petals and exotic spices like cinnamon and myrrh. With this crow-like appearance, these mystical doctors embraced the traditions of masquerade, hiding their true identity, man or woman. Passed down through the centuries, herbal lore and natural witchcraft are still important to those who practice the alchemy of distillation, the ancient art of creating medicinal tonics from plant-based ingredients. Holland Road embraces the traditions of these ancient practices, sourcing natural botanicals long used for their protective qualities. They are proud of the fact that each bottle of gin produced is meticulously hand crafted, bottled and labelled in New Zealand.
