While sipping on a delicious tipple in our backyard one day, we spotted a rat sniffing its way around the undergrowth. Cheeky little rat. But we didnât have a trap! So - because most great stories start with a gin - we devised the Great New Zealand Gin Rat Trap.
The perfect combination of helping DOC on their quest to eradicate vermin from the backyards of Aotearoa, and a smooth award-winning gin to have on hand at all times.
It just. made sense.
So we got in touch with a top notch local charity who are bloody good on the tools, explained our gin-ius idea, and left them to it. And thanks to this stroke of pure kiwi ingenuity, we are now armed with copious amounts of gin and rat traps.

The traps come with full instructions for use and traps both rats and mice. They are a âno-touch designâ and are made locally by a not-for-profit community organisation on the KÄpiti Coast.
