Whether you're new to Rooftop Tenting or just looking to upgrade, here's some things to consider before choosing your next mobile home.

Check the mattress thickness of which ever tent you’re considering. We wouldn't personally consider anything below a 60mm high density foam mattress. This particular feature should not be overlooked! As rooftop tent mattresses are usually positioned on top of a hard flat base the mattress quality and thickness can be the difference between waking up fresh and ready to go, or tired, sore and grumpy. This is compounded through multiple nights of use, so if you're planning a longer trip it's even more critical.

Condensation build up, particularly underneath your mattress is another consideration which many overlook, and can be a real problem with lower quality Rooftop Tents. The last thing you want is moisture building up between the base of your tent and your mattress. This can obviously lead to multiple issues including mould and premature deterioration of the tent.

Our Summit Suite tent has a 10mm thick anti-condensation mat under the mattress to allow airflow and minimise condensation build up. As an added bonus, this adds and extra 10mm of cushioning for an even more comfortable night's sleep.
