What is Horopito? Horopito (Pseudowintera colorata) has an amazing pepper like taste to its leaves which gives it its common name, the pepper tree. This plant, which is a New Zealand native, has beautiful green leaves that are easily identified by the red, rusty coloured spots that cover their surface.
