Native Flora Honey (250g, 500g, 1kg)

By far our most popular every day eating honey is that produced from the nectars of our Native Wildflowers that grow abundantly in our treasured ngahere (forest).

Raw and unblended our Native Flora (a.k.a. bush blend) honey is a true taste of all the wonderful native species found in our Northland Forest, Omahuta. Affordable enough you can indulge every day, without compromising on quality. Best of all, there's no plastic packaging!

Our most popular harvest to date (summer 2019-2020) during which the K ānuka flowered prolifically, the likes of which we have never seen before. Branches were drooping under the weight of all the tightly clustered flowers.

We also saw our personal favourite, the Northern Red Rata, put on a spectacular display, a once-every-seven-years event we have been waiting (and hoping) would occur again for some time. The combination of these two nectars has, in our opinion, created a truly exquisite honey.

Harvested towards the end of the season, these two floral types are also joined by the other flowering species including Towai (also known as Kāmahi)  White Rata, Hebe, Rewa Rewa, Nikau and 5-finger in trace amounts. Overall  this sweet, delicate Native Flora honey resembles caramel butterscotch sauce and is a perfect all-round table honey, loved by adults and children alike.

What our customers are saying:

"Your honey arrived today (Native Flora). WOW! What an amazing, complex taste experience it is! (Caramel, butter - all kinds of tastes). I think I'll just do a Pooh Bear and sit and spoon it out of the jar. (glad to see it is a glass jar too). All the best to you." - Kath
