About this tea
Our semi-wild Brother of the Forest Yunnan black is an excellent breakfast tea but is great at any time of day. It goes well on its own or with a splash of milk. A beautiful semi-wild black tea harvested from an old-growth farm found at 2100 metres in Yunnan province. It is smooth and malty/woody with lovely energy.
The dried leaves are black and golden. The tea liquor has a mahogany colour.
Steeping suggestion
We've found that our ideal cup takes just over 3 grams (1 tbsp) of dried leaves, steeped for 1 minute at 95°. You can get up to 3 steeps from one three-gram serving.
Our values
By purchasing this tea, you are investing in sustainable farming practices and small family businesses.
Semi-wild, in this case, refers to the applied farming practices of Masanobu Fukuoka. These practices exclude the use of pesticides and herbicides of any kind, exclude prepared fertilisers, exclude pruning, and only include minimal weed suppression. This tea is beyond organic. The couple that farmed and produced this tea studied directly under Mr. Fukuoka.
