One of the main weapons that pre-European Māori used were , which were made from basalt, which was a local resource across man parts of Aotearoa.

I carved this particular from a boulder that was given to me whilst living here on the Sunshine Coast.
The basalt boulders from this region are so flawless that it has helped produce some of the most beautiful taonga I have ever carved!
