Vintage TRAVEL RUG Unusual hessian type weave

Key feature: Super unusual unbrushed wool

I'd love to know some history on this blanket! It has a coarse hessian style weave and is completely unbrushed.  It feels almost like a vintage uniform wool but the weave is not as dense.  

Light weight thickness in check design of terracotta, mustard, butternut and dark chocolate brown detail.

Travel Rug size at 140 x 160cm. Interesting that it is labelled as a Travel Rug, most often these have fringe but seemed to have its original edge when it came to us.  

Three small patch repairs have been added.

Original printed label showing some light wear.  New Zealand wool, New Zealand made.

A Fresh Retro Love, Restore to Relove label has been added to one corner.

This blanket isn't exactly cosy! But would make a wonderful addition to the backseat of a classic car, over a chair in a study or as part of a vintage collection.
