Positively Parkinson's: Symptoms & Diagnosis, Research & Treatment, Advice & Support
Also available as an e-book on Kobo or Kindle About the Book
Thousands of people the world over have been diagnosed with Parkinsonâs, but many thousands more are dealing with it every day â relatives and friends, carers and health professionals. Informative, practical and uplifting, this is a book for anyone with Parkinsonâs and for those who support them. It contains answers to almost any question you might ask about Parkinsonâs, from symptoms and diagnosis to the latest treatments and therapies, as well as the most recent medical research into stem cells and gene therapy. Drawing on her own experience of Parkinsonâs as well as that of others, author Ann Andrews offers accessible advice on how to cope with the impact of Parkinsonâs on everything from employment, finance and relationships, to exercise, diet and self-care. The resulting combination of the practical and the personal sets this book apart from others on the same topic. Thoroughly researched and perceptively written, this is an empowering resource for anyone needing to adjust their life to Parkinsonâs.
Foreword by Dr Barry Snow MBChB, FRACP, FRCPC

Ann Andrews has worked as a television and theatre producer, researcher, teacher and crisis counsellor. She was diagnosed with Parkinsonâs in midlife. Positively Parkinsonâs is the book she would have liked to read at that critical time.
Sadly Ann died in 2017, but her book continues to be much in demand. Reviews
I tell people who ask me about Parkinsonâs that it isnât the end of the world. You have to adapt your life to it. Everyone who has Parkinsonâs should read this book. It should be their bible. Itâs inspiring, reassuring and easy to follow.
