Our comprehensive range of native hinu (oils) are handcrafted with tikanga and aroha - from harvesting through to packaging, each rÄkau is processed with meticulous attention and respect. Our hinu contains the leaves, flowers, roots, bark and /or buds of the rÄkau, slow infused in cold pressed sunflower oil.
TÄtarÄmoa (Rubus cissoides) is an effective, calming rongoÄ rakau that works as a relaxant on our nervous system - TÄtarÄmoa can help us calm our minds when we're feeling anxious.
F A C T S:
TÄtarÄmoa is a prickly, forest vine that can be found weaving it's way through the ngahere. The backward-pointing prickles on the stems help the vine climb to the open canopy of a forest. You'll immediately know bush lawyer when you encounter it as the thorns will painfully scrape across your bare thighs or arms, quickly drawing blood.
TÄtarÄmoa has hand-shaped leaves with three to five toothed 'fingers', white flowers and a yellowish-red fruit. But again. TÄtarÄmoa's most noticeable feature is its thorns!
TÄtarÄmoa - Bush lawyer - is from the blackberry and raspberry whÄnau. The name Bush Lawyer is said to have been given because once this thorny plant becomes attached to you it will not let you go until it has drawn blood! I also read that, like any good American lawyer, once it gets a hold of you, it doesn't let go easily. LOL.
TÄtarÄmoa is a versatile rongoÄ and can also assist with the female hormonal system, sleep, teething babies and drug and alcohol rehabilitation.
