Wagon Wheel Carving Knife

Benjamin got a hot tip on a pair of wagon wheels. They had spent a lifetime working around a local horse track and stables and were leaned up against a shed waiting for him to come and give them new life.

This knife uses predominantly materials from one of those wheels.

He forge welded wrought iron from the tyre over a bar of modern 80crv2 steel and hammered out the shape of the blade and bolster. The spokes of the wheel looked weathered and crumbly but just beneath the surface rich red hardwood was revealed.

Constructed with an integral bolster and steel pinned hidden tang.

Displayed on a section of the same wagon wheel spokes which make up the handle. Blade length: 260mm
