    Regenerating Rye Grass Barlibro
Barlibro RPR is a regenerating perennial ryegrass with a unique ability to repair itself from significant wear and heavy traffic. Recommended for hard wearing sports grounds, golf courses as well as the domestic lawn. What it means for the home lawner is a thicker tougher rye grass lawn than normal rye grasses can deliver. Up in a week and medium-green in colour.

    Supalawn
This one has been a family favourite over the years and is found in most garden centres. It’s a standard Rye Grass/Fescue mix (80/20). Easy to grow and cheaper here than anywhere else. Might look patchy to start as the fescue will take a lot longer to germinate than the ryes. They'll catch up so be patient.

    The Vintage Blend
This is our biggest seller. Reasonable darkish green treble mix of turf perennials.  Easiest to grow. Up in 6 days but a dwarf so won't grow too high. Likes full sun but will handle temporary shade through the day.

    Made for Shade
Superfine bladed turf grass unlike any of the others. Beautiful appearance. It’s a combination of 2 fine fescues and we think it’s the toughest of the turf grasses - yes tougher than tall fescue. Sun or shade it doesn't care and can be cut real short or left real long. It's dark green if h...

    Sportsfield
Very similar in appearance to Vintage except it's a single turf perennial rye grass ideal for a golf fairway, big lawn or for repairing a sportsfied. Very easy to establish and matches most things as an oversower.

    Tall Fescue
It’s a dark green beauty with a deep root system which gives it reasonable drought tolerance. Goes well in sun or even heavy shade. Make sure you have good soil because it's a sulky one to get out of the ground in the best of surroundings but won't tolerate bad soil.

    Just Grass/Rye clover
A rye grass and clover mix. If you just want grass cover and don't care about looks - this is it - we call it Just Grass (or in the pasture range - rye clover).  Its not a dwarf though but a high grower. Used by contractors on the berms, hobby farmers to oversow pasture and landlords for rentals.

    Made for Shade Premium
This mix of creeping red and chewings fescue is great for under the trees or in the shade as long as you fertilise regularly with slow release. Remember it’s the lack of nutrient that often kills the grass under trees - not the lack of sun. Fork the soil under trees to avoid compaction that often occurs there. Grass won't grow in compacted soil - can't breath. Full bird protection.

You want grass but have no water, and it gets hot and you don't want to spend time maintaining it. This or Bermuda are your only options. Likes the ground temperature up around 21 degrees to really fly but will still work down to about 16 degrees. 1kg to 80sq metres at a full rate but you can sow le...

    Wimbledon
Blend of 90% chewings and creeping red fescues and 10% Browntop. Beautiful fine appearance. Its specialty is lawn tennis or croquet courts but it can make a home lawn look nice as well. Can be cut short but expect extra maintenance if you do so.

    NZ Browntop
A lovely dark green creeping grass that requires maintenance to keep looking good. It needs drier well aerated conditions to thrive and does not respond well to over-watering or compacted soils. It can be a beautiful lawn in the right conditions and with a lot of care. Only for those serious about their lawns - or their golf.

    Bermuda
Fine leaved and blue green. Doesn't need regular watering when it's hot and will prosper in coastal or dry areas. Good for the holiday home and also makes a high quality domestic lawn. Over the winter months it will tend to go dormant and frosts will brown it off. Don't worry - it will come away aga...

    Dichondra
You'll know what it looks like if you're reading this so I won't describe it. Can be broadcast but best results are achieved through growing plugs and transplanting.  Because it's a weed there will always be difficulties with weed control. That aside people see it appear (often under trees) and like the way it looks and persists. 1kg 100sq metres. It comes from Italy by the way.

    Gro-Quick
This is a medium bladed rye with a small amount of fine fescue included. Recommended for lifestyle blocks where it can persist well with little maintenance and is well priced because it goes further with less seed needed. Only downside is that it will grow fast all the time, so I hope you have a ride-on handy.

    Superfine
This is a new line of turf perennial rye grass at Newton's. It’s a very fine leafed variety similar to fine fescues in its appearance. Its feature other than having a finer leaf than other rye grasses is that it’s happy to be cut very short of left long. For those serious lawners with a re...
