Snowdrop Cactus - Lepismium houlletianum

The Snowdrop Cactus displays beautifully as a hanging plant. If grown in the right conditions, can flower several times a year. Creamy white to yellow, funnel shaped flowers along the jagged edge of the foliage with no thorns. Stems often reaching more than 1.5 metres in length. Not only is it easy to care for but its foliage makes it a favourite!

An impressive hanging indoor plant or filtered light outdoors, shade in the afternoon. Being a tropical plant, it prefers a warm, humid microclimate and can be brought indoors for winter or all year round.

Light levels: This plant does will with exposure to morning sun and only dappled afternoon light. If exposed to direct sunlight the long hanging leaves may yellow but if they don't receive enough light they may become stunted and not flower.

Watering: Water regularly as these plants aren't drought resistant but be sure not to over water as this may cause root rot and weakened stems.

Feeding: During the Spring/Summer growing season, use a diluted cacti liquid fertiliser once per month.

Growth: A slow-moderate growing plant which has long hanging leaves.

Toxicity: This plant is considered to be mildly toxic if ingested so it's best to keep out of reach and children.

Air purifying: A great plant to have in the home to help eliminate any airborne toxins in the air.
