This vintage game of Floundering by Spears - a rare edition dating from the 1950s - is the perfect addition to a grandparent's toy box, as it will keep young ones entertained for many precious hours.

It's a mix and match game where players “catch” or “poach” pieces in order to form fish … flounders, naturally. For ages 2-4 year olds. 

Game is complete with the pieces (to make 12 fish in total), 2 dice and instructions printed on the underside of the box lid. The game looks like it has rarely been used and box is amazing condition considering its age.

Spears starting producing children’s games in 1879, from a small workshop in Nuremberg, Germany. The Jewish owned company moved most of the manufacturing to Britain in 1932. Not long after, the Nuremberg factory was forcibly "purchased" by a German businessman. The UK factory switched to military production during the war and then returned to making games until being sold to Mattel in 1994 (after a historic bidding war with Hasbro).

Condition: Preloved Good. Particularly considering its 70 years old. No missing pieces. Old cellotape marks on the base of box & small box tear on one side, which has been taped up (shown in photos).
