In the 1990s, the number of space shuttle missions doubled that of the '80s, enabling everyday wonder, rather than rare scientific study. The shuttle program was in full-swing and Apollo 13 (the movie) was released in 1995. Hasbroâs Moonraker Action Man was a referential nod to the much-loved Moonraker James Bond movie (1979) starring Roger Moore, and tapped into this space zeitgeist of this time.
