Enamelled Tin Salt Cellar

Classic vintage French blue and white enamelled tin storage box for cooking salt. The term "Cellar" comes from the old French word "Saler" meaning a box for salt storage. Until free-running salt was invented in 1905 the salt would be either crystal from seawater or mined rocksalt.
